Hi Jeff -

I was glad to hear that you enjoy the alternative and integrative medicine information on MayoClinic.com. And I understand what you're saying about being a little surprised that a traditional "western medicine" organization like Mayo is so supportive of alternative and integrative therapies. You may also be surprised to hear that we have been offering certain forms of integrative medicine (acupuncture, for example) since the 1970s. We have an incredible complementary and integrative medicine program which is growing and adding new stuff all the time. There are numerous clinical trials underway about various forms of integrative and complementary medicine. We have also recently published the Mayo Clinic Book of Alternative Medicine, and released Mayo Clinic Wellness Solutions, a series of 10 DVDs focused on common conditions that can be helped, in part, by integrative approaches. Thank you for the kind words about Mayo Clinic, and we hope you'll check out all of our other offerings as well. Thanks again!
Sincerely,
Ginger Plumbo
